Senior AI Engineer – Agents & Automation
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will build AI agents that carry out concrete day-to-day tasks for our clients. You will work directly with their business and technical stakeholders to understand processes, translate requirements into dependable solutions and support rollout. You will take responsibility for implementation from the initial technical design through to ongoing improvement in production, combining sound software engineering with a clear focus on client value.

Your responsibilities
- Analyse business processes, goals and constraints with our clients and translate them into clear technical requirements.
- Design suitable architectures and build AI agents, tools and workflows for specific client processes yourself.
- Integrate solutions with clients' existing systems, accounting for data flows, permissions and human approval steps.
- Build in tests, evaluations and observability, and assess quality, latency and costs in a traceable way.
- Test solutions with client users, support rollout and clearly hand over how they work, their limitations and operational requirements.
- Evaluate feedback from client deployments, resolve failures and improve solutions using reusable components.
Your profile
- You are proficient in Python or TypeScript and understand APIs, databases, testing and maintainable software design.
- You have taken responsibility for software beyond the prototype stage and can explain architectural choices, debugging and operations through concrete examples.
- You have practical experience with language models, tool calling or comparable automated workflows and can explain their limitations and failure modes.
- You break down ambiguous problems, test assumptions and can explain when deterministic workflows or language models are appropriate.
- You have a strong foundation in computer science, business informatics, mathematics, physics or an equally rigorous route. Demonstrated application matters.
- You can develop requirements with clients' business and technical stakeholders, explain decisions clearly in German and work with English technical documentation.
- Experience with retrieval, evaluation systems, event processing or secure tenant isolation is also valuable.
What we offer
- Work remotely within Germany, with regular team days together in Fulda.
- €90,000–€120,000 gross annual base salary for a full-time position. Placement within the range depends on relevant experience and responsibilities.
